There's a pretty negative article, "Teacher's tactics cloud idyll of private school", that describes some troubles at the Hawthorne Valley School a Waldorf school in Albany, NY. Over a dozen parents have removed their kids from the school for all kinds of reasons, including strapping children to chairs with leather belts, tying their hands and even taping their mouths shut! Apparently, there was also a bad bout of whooping cough a few years ago because about half the school is not vaccinated.
